The Concorde was created at the height of the jet age, a period of rapid aeronautical innovation. It redefined what was possible in the sky, cutting trans-Atlantic flight times in half at twice the speed of sound and lifting passengers high enough to glimpse the curvature of the Earth. The supersonic aircraft was a symbol of a time when the world dreamed bigger. The Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Tribute to Concorde is expressed through a blue dial inspired by the shade of the stratosphere as seen from the plane, paired with a matching alligator strap. Contrasting white subdials and an inner slide rule reference Concorde’s nickname White Bird (“L’Oiseau Blanc”). Limited to 593 pieces, a reference to the Olympus 593 turbojet engines that powered the aircraft. The caseback is engraved with “One of 593,” “Tribute to Concorde,” “Jetliner,” and “Mach 2,” the aircraft’s cruising speed beyond the sound barrier.
To create the ultimate modern Navitimer, Breitling preserved the most recognizable aspects of the icon's design code, with its circular slide rule, baton indexes, trio of chronograph counters and notched bezel for easy grip. Up close, however, its modern refinements come through loud and clear. A flattened slide rule and a domed crystal create the illusion of a more compact profile. Alternating polished and brushed finishings give the metal elements a lustrous, yet understated quality. A slimmer silhouette on the oscillating weight enhances the open-caseback view of the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. This movement is backed by a five-year warranty, provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and allows the wearer to change the date — now visible through a discreet window in the subdial — at any time.
