Fears Brunswick 40 Filton Squadron Green BS240.010.059.125
Fears takes to the sky for the first time in 180 years
With the Brunswick 40 ‘Filton’, Bristol-based indie Fears explores the classic aviator’s watch through a distinctly contemporary lens, drawing inspiration from the pioneering spirit of early flight and Bristol’s historic association with aviation. Named after Filton, the historic home to the Bristol Areoplane Company, the watch subtly nods to a moment in history when the first aviators took to the skies, capturing that sense of precision, purpose and quiet bravery.
Highly legible and confidently restrained, the Filton introduces the first-ever date complication within the Brunswick 40mm line, positioned discreetly at six o’clock. The dial features applied numerals in Fears’ own bespoke ‘Edwin’ typeface and a bold triangle at twelve – a cardinal point, and a signature of traditional mid-century pilot watches. The time is displayed using sword-shaped versions of the classic Fears ‘pipette’ hands.
The Filton is powered by the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic calibre – a reliable mainstay of the Brunswick collection, where heritage cues are delicately balanced with the confidence of modern utility.
